I have been a fan of Peter Canning for years. His was one of the first blogs I read, and Rescuing Providence owes a great deal to Street Watch. http://medicscribe.com/
Believe it or not, there was a time, long, long ago (seven years) when there were only a few EMS and Fire related blogs on the internet, and Facebook was only a glimmer of an idea. Since that time EVERYTHING concerning publishing books has changed.
Book readers, and buyers have a million choices at their fingertips now, and lots for free. There are great works, good stories, a lot of decent things and a giant heap of rubbish to choose from. It is more difficult now than ever to stand out, and continue writing quality content. Peter has done just that, with his blog, and now, Mortal Men, his first (that I know of, anyway) work of fiction.
I look forward to reading Mortal Men, as soon as I break down and buy an e-reader. Through our writing I sense a brotherhood with Peter, and am proud to consider him a friend.

If you don’t want to buy an e-reader, you can get Amazon’s Kindle program for your computer and read it on there, or on a smartphone.
I don’t have an e-reader, and my phone isn’t very smart. I really wish books hadn’t fallen prey to the digital age. I love books and turning pages and carrying one and..it just ain’t fittin’ for a book to be electric and run on batteries dadgum it!I don’t want to do the majority of my reading on a ‘puter either. I will stop before I begin to rant.
