One More Time

Fire Engineering has posted an article about my favorite subject (that would be me.) I had the rare opportunity to be first in and on the pipe after a ten year haitus due to my descision to devote the second part of my Fire/EMS career to the EMS part of the job. In Providence we operate 14 Engine Companies, 8 Ladder Companies, a Special Hazards unit, two battalion chiefs and six ALS units. The department is overrun with great firefighters. I am a good firefighter, but found I was a better EMT, hence my exodus from the firefighting force. I've never regretted the descision, but was truly saddened by the loss of opportunity to put the wet stuff on the red stuff.

Alas-never say never!
